Who is SDE?

    For over 30 years, Staff Development for Educators (SDE) has served the professional development needs of educators from across the country and around the world. As America’s leading in-service workshop and conference provider, SDE enriches the lives of hundreds of thousands of educators each year by offering the most up-to-date, cutting-edge topics, classroom resources, and the largest network of nationally acclaimed presenters available anywhere.

How do I register for PD Events?

    For your convenience, we offer FIVE ways to register for the event of your choice.
    • Register online by browsing any event, clicking register, and completing requested information.
    • Call 1-800-462-1478 to speak with a Customer Satisfaction representative.
    • Fax your completed registration form to:1-800-337-9929.
    • Mail your form to: SDE Registrations, PO Box 577, Peterborough, NH 03458 USA
    • E-mail us (please do not email credit card info).

    Registration forms mailed or faxed must include:

    • School and billing addresses and phone numbers.
    • Unique e-mail address for each participant.
    • Grade level(s) you teach.
    • Title/position (teacher, principal, etc.).
    • If you received a brochure, the VIP number from your mailing label.

    Please be sure to include your payment information (check, credit card information, purchase order or billing address). Upon receipt of your registration, a confirmation will be e-mailed to you. Please wait to make any travel and hotel arrangements until you have received e-mail confirmation of your registration.

Can I register onsite at any SDE event?

    For conferences:
    You may register onsite, but to ensure you are able to attend the sessions you want, we encourage you to register online or by calling 1-800-462-1478.

    For seminars:
    You may register onsite, but because space in some seminars is limited, we encourage you to register online or by calling 1-800-462-1478.

Can I register using a purchase order (P.O.)?

    Yes! It's easy. Simply call (1-800-462-1478), mail (SDE Registrations, PO Box 577, Peterborough, NH 03458 USA), or fax (1-800-337-9929) your purchase order and provide the name and address of the school district responsible for payment. You can also bring this information with you to the event. School payment is not required prior to a conference or seminar.

Can I pay with personal funds?

    Yes. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. You may pay prior to or onsite at a conference or seminar.

Can I make my hotel reservations when I register for a conference or seminar?

    You can call the hotel directly (using the number listed in each conference brochure or on the event website) to make your reservations. Please be sure to book your accommodations early, as room blocks for conferences fill up quickly. SDE does not reserve room blocks for seminars.

What are the start and end times for seminars and conferences?

  • Seminar: Registration from 7:30–8:30 a.m. Conference: Registration from 7:00–8:00 a.m.
  • Seminar: Program begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. Conference: Program begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:50 p.m.
  • Morning and afternoon break.
  • Seminar: Lunch is 1 hour and start times may vary. Conference: Lunch is 1 hour and 15 minutes and start times may vary. Please refer to your conference or seminar for an exact schedule.

Can I get staff development credit for attending?

    Staff development credit is available, but options vary from state to state, so please review our Staff Development Credit page. University credit is also available. You can call 1-800-462-1478 or e-mail us for specific credit inquiries.

Can principals really attend FREE with a paid registration?

    Yes. With the paid registration of a team of 5+, a principal from the same building may attend a seminar or conference tuiton-free. However, free principal registrations are non-transferable and the entire group must register at the same time to receive the free principal offer. Some exceptions do apply based on event (be sure to check the details of each event).

How can I bring an education expert to my school or district?

    Many of the education experts and speakers who present at SDE conferences and seminars are available for onsite engagements. We would be happy to speak with you to assess your needs and align a customized onsite PD plan with one (or more) of our experts. Do you offer group discounts?

    SDE makes it easy for educators to attend SDE events as a team by offering special group discounts. Explore our current discounted group rates here. To see if discounts qualify for a particular event, please contact us at 1-800-462-1478.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that things happen. Here is our cancellation policy:
  • At any time, you may transfer your registration to a colleague at your school with no penalty.
  • You can make a substitution online or by calling our Customer Satisfaction team at 1-800-462-1478.
  • If you are not able to transfer your registration to a colleague, our refund policy is as follows:
    • Cancel by May 31, 2018 and receive a refund of your registration amount less a 10% cancellation fee.
    • Cancel between June 1, 2018 and July 1, 2018 and receive a 50% refund of your registration amount.
    • After July 1, 2018, cancellations will not receive a refund (regardless of whether you attend).
    • Pre-paid meals, and other value-adds are not eligible for refund.
Please remember that transferring your registration does not automatically transfer your hotel and travel arrangements. You are responsible for transferring your own hotel and travel reservations.
