The beginning and ending of the day are two of the best times for formative assessments of concepts. In the morning, reviewing yesterday’s concepts to build on today and in the afternoon, revisiting the day to determine level of understanding by playing a game or doing an activity. We often assume they know what we did today and why we did it. These two times of the day allow us to ensure that they really are “getting it.”
