She has more than 25 years of experience working with classroom teachers and school-based occupational therapists to facilitate an effective partnership to better support student-centered handwriting instruction. Kathleen directs the HW21Summit research forum, and was responsible for the organization of the 2012 Handwriting in the 21st Century research symposium which hosted presentations by a prominent group of educational researchers. She is a nationally recognized expert on handwriting research- and evidence-based handwriting instruction. Kathleen has created and currently directs the Zaner-Bloser Occupational Therapy Advisory Board, working to counsel classroom professionals through the effective interpretation of information from motor learning theory as it pertains to instruction and practice.
